Antique English Regency Letter Box in Rosewood C.1820

Description

A simply wonderful birdcage style letter box with open sides in this case closed in with hand turned spindles created from Brazilian Rosewood.

There is a central divider within the box, with two slots to the top, one for Answered letters and the other for Unanswered letters. A member of household staff would be able to see if there were any letters to be delivered.

The box stands on four turned bun feet and the top sporting a turned finial.

Complete with a working key, this exotic gem remains in excellent condition, dating to 1810 or 1820. 9" x 6 1/4" x 5 3/4" tall.
