Grand Carved Ivory Handled Magnifying Glass - Sterling Silver Ferrule, 1907.

Description

A very grand and highly decorative large magnifying glass with the most beautiful carved period Ivory handle with a foliate design.

The handle terminates in an English sterling silver ferrule joining the to the lens; with a complimentary foliate vine design. The silver has a full hallmark for Sheffield 1907, making this an Edwardian example, well over 100 years old.

The lens is of course new (by Hilkinson) creating a perfect usable glass with an excellent magnification.

Excellent condition, measuring 9" in length, the glass having a diameter measuring 4".
