Description

An outstanding and most unusual example of an English Victorian spoon warmer of oval form with fine quality engraving to the top and side.

At one end is a concealed panel that slides open to accommodate the spoon. The dish stands on four highly decorative floral and foliate legs standing on four paw feet. Each end has a handle finished in polished period Ivory.

The underside has a full mark for Birmingham silversmiths, Thomas Latham & Ernest Morton, this mark used between 1866 and 1896, so this one dating from the mid to late nineteenth century.

A superb piece in excellent condition, spanning 8" handle to handle x 5 1/2" and standing 3" tall.
