A small and quite rustic oak collectors cabinet circa 1820.

This little 8 drawer cabinet has a rustic charm which is typical of such an early piece. The cabinet was used by a famous entomologist originally but would now lend itself to many collecting pursuits and perhaps a collection of watches, brooches or other jewellery would be appropriate. As a 'cabinet of curiousities' it would excel!

The cabinet is built simply of english oak and the drawers have an assortment of turned ivory knobs, ( I think all of these are original and contemporanious with the cabinet but may well have been gleaned from other pieces of furniture).
