An Imposing Meissen Style Porcelain Bowl & Cover

Description

An imposing Meissen style porcelain circular antique bowl and cover. Painted with 18th Century rural scenes after "Wouvermanss" in polychrome enamels within a basket weave border, with trailing foliate detail. All mounted in fine and chased ormolu with a bud finial. The circular pierced rim flanked by lions mask ring handles and raised upon a circular pierced fluted and acanthus cast base, under glazed blue cross swords with "S" in the Meissen Style, circa 1880

Dimensions: 18" high

Condition: This bowl and cover is in excellent original condition
