French Dresser - Elm - c1800

This French dresser is solidly crafted in elm and offers tremendous character and county charm with deep colour and patina giving a superb feeling of warmth to the whole.

This well proportioned and very functional piece offers both beauty and style.

A pleasing upper section offers good opportunity for display with triple shelves each with plate standing rail. The upper is finished with a simple clean crown moulding in keeping with the country feel of the piece.

To the lower cabinet a pair of field panel doors open to reveal a generous storage area with central shelf. The doors benefit from extended pierced wrought iron lock escutcheons and a large working lock with key, and hang on splendid tall external 'H' hinges.

Twin drawers with splendid wrought iron pulls offer storage for cutlery and smaller items.

The wonderful look and versatility of this unusual item of furniture ensures that it will look as at home in the kitchen as it will in the dining or common areas.
