Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.

The hinged lid works well, the interior of the lid has a partial hallmark matching the full hallmark to the underside of the caddy for the highly collectible Chester assay office, the makers mark is half rubbed but is G.N over R.H into a shield for the silversmith, George Nathan & Ridley Hayes.

A good gauge of silver was used to create this weighty piece, 6.92 troy ounces / 215.3 grams and measuring 4 1/2" across x 3 1/2" x 4 1/4" tall to top of finial.
