Antique English Sterling Silver Card Case in Original Presentation Case - 1893

Description

A wonderful English Victorian card case lucky enough to still be ensconced in it's original silk and velvet lined presentation case.

The case is beautifully engraved with an all-over foliate design with a vacant shield shaped cartouche to the front.

The case has a perfectly working catch and hinge and reveals a most attractive lined interior, it came to me with these original visiting cards in, which I will leave intact; a true piece of history.

The case is fully marked for Birmingham 1893 together with the makers mark C.C for Colen Hewer Cheshire. The card case measures 3 5/8" x 2 3/4" and the presentation box measures 4" x 3".
