Antique English Sterling Silver Heart Shaped Inkstand with Cut Crystal Inkwell - 1903

Description

A stunning, charming and romantic Edwardian inkwell with a full English sterling silver hallmark for Birmingham 1903. The makers initials HM for the well renowned silversmith, Henry Matthews.

The heart shaped base has an attractive shaped border and stands on three pretty pierced or reticulated feet.

In the center there is a circular silver collar (a few dints to this collar) where the cut crystal inkwell sits perfectly and securely. The hinged lid is of course of sterling silver too with a matching mark for 1903.

A really lovely quality piece in superb condition. The base is made from a good gauge of silver, alone weighing 3.61 Troy Ounces or 112.3 Grams. 4 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" tall to top of lid finial.
