A large and very decorative clock set, heavy and very well modelled in brass / bronze and in its stunning original gilding. The case is architectural in design, with stylised pillars to the front and sides with inset fretted panels. Top of the case is a stylised onion dome which is surmounted by an urn and the whole is profusely decorated with floral swags and foliage, the feet being formed as large leaves. The design in general is bold, with deep moulding, but also very finely detailed.

Dial is gilded brass mounted with 12 individual enamel cartouches lettered in blue. It is complete with the original fretted blue steel hands.

The French movement is of high quality and is by Samuel Marti, their mark is on the movement backplate, it is fitted with the superior rack striking and pin-pallet escapement. It runs for 8 days and strikes half hourly on a bell. It has been fully overhauled by our clock maker and the clock is complete with its original pendulum and bell. Condition of the case is excellent with good original gilding which is bright and clean. There are no losses to the case or candelabra. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, the lettering on some of the cartouches is slightly faded.

Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
