Superbly Presented Writing Slope With Secret Drawer - Rosewood - c1850

A stunning Rosewood writing slope of quality and presented in excellent condition.

With superb leather skiver which is tooled and gilt embossed.

The brass bound box is in superb order and opens to reveal a double flap interior. The lid section encloses a useful space for letter and document storage and is released with an original small flush fit slider lock.

The main compartment opens with a lift tab and under can be found further storage space and a secret drawer. The drawer is sprung and pops open when the divider section in the quill-pen storage area is lifted.

The quill-pen tray lifts out to allow storage under.

Overall a very pleasing quality example with fine craftsmanship, gorgeous design and wonderful condition.
