Small Regency Mahogany Bracket Clock

Description

An attractive Regency period mahogany BRACKET CLOCK of compact size, by T. COX SAVORY, in full working order. The case is of mahogany with a gadroon-carved gabled top surmounted by pineapple finial; lion's mask handles to the sides above 'fishscale' fretwork panels; brass-inlaid canted corners to the front door; oval 'batswing' inlaid cartouche to the base and it is supported on the original compressed brass bun feet.

The eight-day twin fusee movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell, whilst the engraved and silvered dial, with the original blued steel "moon" hands, is signed and numbered: T. COX SAVORY, 47 Cornhill, LONDON, No. 550. About 12ins high.
