Sterling Silver & Tortoiseshell Lidded Jar - 1906

Description

A very handsome oval glass vanity jar, topped with a wonderful and highly decorative lid. Made from English sterling silver the top is inset with a gorgeous panel of tortoise shell decorated with silver pique inlay.

The raised border around the shell frames it to perfection. The silver is hallmarked for London 1906. The makers mark is also present for the silversmith Drew & Sons - Samuel Summers Drew & Ernest Drew. Excellent condition, standing 3 3/4" tall with the lid measuring 2 3/4" x 2".
