Lancaster Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The chime is lovely.
The candlesticks have six little feet and removable finials at the top. All the details on the brass are crisp and clear with swags, fruit and flowers, and at the base of each piece is the profile of a maiden in a oval surround with a bow at the top.
The pieces were probably lacquered many years ago and we have not attempted to re-polish them, but should that be required, then we can arrange to have it done. The set is not as dark as appear in the photographs, and much prettier in real life. We adjusted the images so that all the details could be seen but we seem to have lost some of the charm!
The height of the clock is 43cm, and the width is 34cm; the candelsticks are 44cm in height and 15cm across.
Each piece is heavy and exceptional quality.
