Quality Antique Mahogany Two Door Bookcase

This stunning quality European mahogany two door bookcase dates to the mid 19th Century and having beautiful proportions with crisp carving and super veneers makes it one of the best I have seen for a while. Having hexagon shaped corners the moulded cornice being flame mahogany veneered has a recessed pediment with ornately carved acanthus leaf finials sitting at the top below which are two moulded doors being flanked by finely carved and detailed mahogany reeded columns. The two glazed doors each having two beaded glazing bars open to reveal the six original adjustable solid mahogany shelves with original fittings. This antiques bookcase most probably French from the Louis Philip reign stands on a shaped plinth with hexagon feet and is in superb original condition with a fantastic colour and patina that screams quality and will work in any setting.
