Description

A set of 8 mahogany George III Period Chippendale dining chairs including two carver armchairs. The chairs having typical Chippendale pierced fretwork interlaced back splats, above the drop in rectangular seat, newly upholstered in a Zoffany silk fabric, supported on square chamfered supports united by H stretchers and with brass and porcelain castor's. The two carver chairs having open swept arms, circa 1770-1780

Dimensions: Armchairs 37" high x 24" wide x 21" deep Stand Chairs 37" high x 21" wide x 19" deep (Seats 18" high)

Condition: This set of chairs are in excellent overall condition, a lovely Cuban mahogany. The back splat of one carver chair has been repaired and is of a slightly darker colour. One top rail from a stand chair has been replaced (quite a while ago) and the castor's are a later addition to raise the height. Recently re-upholstered in our workshops to a high standard
