A Superb Rare Shapland & Petter Mahogany Hall Robe

1900 - 1920
Description

A superb rare Shapland & Petter mahogany inlaid hall robe. Of breakfront outline and with a projected moulded cornice above the central mahogany panelled door, having stunning stylised marquetry inlaid detail depicting typical florid stylised tendrils etc which is also repeated in the angled panelled sides. The Robe Retaining its original hand beaten patinated copper hinges and handle and having an internal shelf and adjustable brass hooks. This wardrobe is featured on page 112 of Daryl Bennett's, Shapland & Petter Arts And Crafts Furniture book circa 1900

dimensions: 54" wide x 81" high x internal depth 16"

Condition: This wardrobe is in stunning original condition,cleaned and waxed. Minor damage to the fretwork spandrels on the base (see pictures)
