Description

A real stunner of a box, about as good as they get. The sterling silver box sits on three little fleur de lys feet.

The border to the lid is exquisite with raised decoration which holds the magnificent piece of domed antique tortoiseshell with colours from golden champagne to rich chocolate brown.

The shell is intricately inlaid with silver pique decoration. The box has a full English hallmark for Birmingham 1910, a true Edwardian piece and made by one of the most famous of English silversmiths, Mappin & Webb.

The interior is lined in a rich Burgundy coloured silk to keep your favourite gems. Excellent condition measuring 3 3/4" in diameter x 1 1/2" tall.
