Description

A fabulous museum quality and pristine box, German in origin, shaped and with a delightful polished steel swing handle to the lid.

There are two intricately inlaid and engraved floral Mother of Pearl vignettes either side of the central stone panel. These souvenirs were made from stones from the spa town of Carlsbad or Karlsbad, were a phenomena during the 19th century. The quality of this stone panel is the finest, accurate and retaining it's brightly polished surface. This panel is framed with a pewter inlaid border.

The interior is perfect, almost untouched since the day it was made. The underside is a joy too, with the original marbelled paper and the original numbered label signed Julius Sebert.

About as good as I have seen, in immaculate condition and complete with a working key. 9 3/4" x 3 1/4" x 2 1/2" tall.
