Antique English Burl Walnut and Tunbridge Inlaid Table or Desk Box C.1860

Description

A really fabulous example of it's type, particularly good quality and superb condition.

The top and front is veneered in the most beautiful burr Walnut with it's rich Cognac colour and decorative curly grain. The edges are ebonised and the box front and top inlaid with fine quality geometric Tunbridge inlay.

The top is inset with a Mother of Pearl plaque with complimentary Nacre shell escutcheon, alas no key.

The interior has been beautifully re-lined in a marbled paper, creating a fresh and clean interior ready for use.

Excellent condition with a good bright patina. 10" x 6 3/4" x 5 1/2" tall.
