Description

A superb French rosewood and gilded brass mounted cylinder bureau de dame. The shaped frieze drawer opens and rotates the Vernis Martin cylinder to reveal a rosewood 3 drawer interior. The fall opens onto the drawer front for support and is lined with a replaced hand dyed burgundy leather writing surface with blind and gold tooling. The top with an attractive three quarter brass gallery and 3 drawers below. The whole standing on cabriole legs with further gilt brass adornments.All original mounts, good mellow patina and freestanding. Working lock with original key. Fully cleaned and waxed.
