During the 1830's James Burrows developed the tessellated mosaic technique which became the most well known type of Tunbridge Ware.

The box has a domed top and once opened reveals an interior professionally re-lined in a hand-marbelled paper.
Excellent condition, measuring 9 1/2" x 4" x 3" tall.
