Candle Statue - Marble & Gilt Metal Base - c1880

A stunning French spelter bronze figure of a young man mounted upon the original base of fine marble with gilt metal embellishment.

Rising through sweeping gilt metal legs into deep red marble stepped form displaying a central gilt metal cartouche.

Overall a very pleasing piece with fine craftsmanship, gorgeous design and wonderful proportion. It displays good patina and will make a wonderful feature piece.
