Antique Decorative Regency Gesso Stool C1820

19th century
Description

Lovely Antique Regency stool being highly decorative and dating from aorund 1820. It has its original horsehair seat pad which has recently been covered in a pale cream quality fabric ( without disturbing the original seat) and stands on gorgeous fruitwood ring turned and block legs with original shellac finish and gesso gadrooned turnings to the legs and turned stretchers with turned finial to the centre. It is hand & Peg joined.

Measures: 18" high x 22" x 17"

A superb stool with lovely original patination and wonderful deep colour to the base and in very good condition oozing all the charm and character of the period.
