A Stunning Quality Thuya Wood & Burr Walnut Victorian Period Credenza

Description

A magnificent thuya wood, burr walnut and ormolu mounted Victorian Period credenza. Having a rectangular top with bowed ends and beautifully figured burr walnut veneers. The frieze having geometric purple heart and ebony inlaid banding with a central sevres porcelain plaque depicting a courting couple. The central twin panelled doors each having an oval sevres porcelain plaque depicting romantic scenes, opening to reveal a silk lined shelved interior and flanked by beautiful ormolu figural mounts. The bowed ends having glazed doors enclosing silk lined shelving all supported on an inverted thuya wood breakfront plinth with goncalo alves moulding circa 1870

Dimensions: 70" wide x 42" high x 18" deep

Condition: This credenza is in beautifully restored condition. Re-lined in ivory watermark silk.
