Victorian Spelter Figure Holding an Oil Lamp

19th century
Description

A completely original Victorian oil lamp, held upright by a spelter figure of a young girl standing on a winged chariot. We lightened the first image so the details could be seen more easily, the lamp is actually a much darker brown/black.

The green glass oil holder has gold decorative patterns. The glass funnel is missing, but the maker's mark of MATADOR and 15" are on the handle.

There is a little wear on the edge of the marble base; and an old hairline crack in the glass font, shown in photo 4.

The lamp measures 60cm in height from top to bottom, and the base is 15cm in diameter.

The price includes delivery within the UK.
