Mantel Clock with Fine Fretwork

Description

An ornate French mantel clock. The original case gilding surmounted by five finials. Silver, brass and bronze raised fretwork. The panel beneath the dial has animals within the leaf scrolls. A silvered dial signed 'Goldsmiths Alliance, Cornhill London'. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a gong by Japay Freres. Circa 1895.
