Elegant English Regency Bombe Shaped Box - Brass Inlaid Rosewood C.1820

Description

A large and impressive box made from warm exotic (and expensive) Rosewood in a beautiful and highly decorative bombe shape. Standing on four large brass bun feet, the box is inlaid with cut brass, a winning combination with wood.

Either side retain their original heavy cast brass ring handles with decorative floral and foliate back-plates.

The interior of the lid reveals the original buff coloured ruched velvet lining and the box has been re-lined in a hand-marbled paper created a fresh and very usable interior.

Superb condition measuring an impressive 14 1/2" wide (including protrusion of handles) x 6 3/4" deep (max) x 9" tall. Complete with working key.
