Antique Victorian Oak Roll Top Desk C1880

Excellent Quality Antique Victorian Oak Tambour Top Desk and dating from aorund 1880. It has a tambour roll top in very good condition which opens to reveal a superb solid oak interior with divided rack and pigeon holes to the centre flanked on either side by three small receipt drawers with original brass name plate holders above further letter rack and drawer with shaped frieze either side of an open space. To the base there is a frieze drawer to the centre and a book slide to the top of each pedastal which has four graduating drawers all of which are oak lined with solid oak handles. The interior of the kneehole is oak panelled and it has its original oak stretcher joining the two pedastals ( these are nearly always missing). It has panelled sides and a panelled back. Dismantles for ease of transporting.

A superb desk of excellent quality and in very good condition with a wonderful colour and original patination to the oak and oozing all the charm and character of the period.
