Antique English Sterling Silver & Mother of Pearl Fruit Knife - Original Case - 1870

Description

A fabulous little fruit knife lucky enough to have been found with it's original leather case with nickel clasp and silk lining.

The knife is made from sterling silver with a full English hallmark for Sheffield 1870 together with the makers initials J.F for the silversmith, James Fenton. There is also the highly sought-after Queen Victoria's head duty mark.

Both the back and front are clad in a tablet of Mother of Pearl or Nacre shell with attractive carved decoration.

Excellent condition measuring 3 1/4" while closed & 5 1/2" while opened. The case measures 4" in length including clasp.
