A Pair of Georgian Silver Sugar Tongs by Philip Batchelor, circa 1770, hand worked and repousse decorated with acorns, shell shaped nips and engraved with the letter M

Philip Batchelor was a London silversmith registered as 'a small worker' in 1770. Very little is known about him however there is some reference to him working as a buckle maker in Turnstile Row, Lincoln's Inn Fields in 1773

Bearing lion passant silver standard and makers mark P•B
