Top-notch Antique English Sterling Silver Ring Box in Heart from - Dublin Retailer

Description

The finest ring box I have ever had, it's condition can only be descried as mint, I think never used and tucked away in a drawer for over 100 years.

The box has an all-over embossed or repousse design and an elegant domed top. The lid fits perfectly and when opened reveals a pristine interior with blue velvet and silk with a cut-out for a single ring.

I also have never had one of these boxes lined in the lid with the Jeweller's mark. It is lined in cream silk and gold embossed with the name and address of the Irish retailer: "West & Son / The King's Jewellers / 18 & 19 College Green, Dublin".

The box and lid are both hallmarked for London 1906, making this Edwardian in era. The box is also marked by the maker, one of the finest, William Comyns.

A superb box, measuring 1 1/2" x 1 3/8" x 1" tall.
