Antique English Naturalistic Table Gong in Silver Plate C.1890

Description

A really charming and very elegant table top dinner gong with the frame and strike handle being created in the from of wooden branches.

The central circular gong is beautifully engraved having just been re-plated by my silversmith, restoring it to it's former glory. The cord from which the gong hangs has had to be replaced, the original was on it's last legs and we have replaced it with a smart black cord.

Dating to around 1890, definitely English in origin, this superb decorative example remains in excellent condition. The footprint measures 6 1/4" x 5 3/4" and stands 9" tall; the gong diameter measures 5".
