Hand of Glory has dated this piece to the 1880s.
A superb example of Glennie's distinctive and intricately executed Grand Tour watercolours.
The inscription reads "Bought in Rome by Henry Lawson from Arthur Glennie the artist, a watercolour by A. Glennie The Forum as it was when he first went to Rome. Price ???"
The reverse also bears framers label for J.L. Hopper of Manchester Road, Accrington.
