French Rosewood Mantel Clock

Description

A French rosewood mantel clock with marquetry inlays. Diamond glass side panels and square glass top aperture. Fine floral inlays and stringing to the case edges. An engine turned silvered engraved dial with 'moon' blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the 1/2 hours and hours on a bell signed 'Laine a Paris'. Silk pendulum suspension. He is listed as working at Rue de Vaugirard in 1860.
