A Late 19th Century French Rosewood & Kingwood Bureau Plat

Description

A Late 19th Century French Rosewood & Kingwood bureau plat. Having the original burgundy Moroccan leather writing surface, within a gadrooned ormolu beaded edge. With a single oak lined frieze drawer veneered in Kingwood with ormolu foliate handles. This bureau plat can be freestanding as the reverse has a "dummy" drawer, and the sides have Kingwood inlaid panels. The whole raised on four rosewood cabriole supports with ormolu mounts terminating in sabots circa 1860-1870

Dimensions: 33" wide x 19" deep x 29" high

Condition: This bureau plat is in excellent original condition, cleaned and waxed, the ormolu retains most of its original gilding. Scuffs and marks to the original Moroccan leather as you would expect.
