Description

t is hard to find such stunning quality baskets, this one an outstanding example beautifully shaped, covered with embossed Strawberries and foliate, all hand chased.

The basket is also pierced or reticulated with a reticulated swing handle again covered in berries.

The centre of the basket retains it's original presentation engraving dated 1862. The piece is marked for the silversmith, John Sherwood & Sons of Birmingham.

A really grand and impressive piece, 11 1/2" in diameter and in superb condition.
