Antique Victorian Inlaid Walnut Credenza

Description

Fabulous original figured walnut antique Victorian Credenza with some lovely satinwood inlay all over & of unusually small proportions. It has three cupboards, the two end ones have bowed glass doors & the centre door is figured walnut with a lovely inlaid central pattern. The top is also figured walnut & has an ebonised edge. The inside shelves behind all three doors are figured walnut, with satinwood inlay & they have just been relined in a burgundy baize. There are gilt metal mounts & edgings around the top & either side of the central door. The shaped base plinth is also figured walnut & has ebonised turned feet which match the top edge. This Credenza is in good condition having just been polished, while keeping the original warm colour & patina. It's also wonderful quality & I would date it to around the 1860-80 period.

Depth - 15", 38 cm

Height - 42.8", 106 cm
