London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
This English Regency period readers table is a lovely example presented in excellent condition.
Rising from original brass cup castors into elegantly turned and gently tapered legs.

The single drawer opens to reveal a fitted interior with inkwell cubbies and pen storage.
In the Pembroke manner the side flaps elevate and are supported by pleasing swing-arms.

The centre section of the table is hinged to provide a readers platform or lectern. There is an adjustable stay under and the table has the original removable document support bar which slots into the table top and retains with brass pins.

In the raised position the table makes a great place to display a fine book or perhaps a more contemporary use could be to place an Ipad for surfing the internet! It would make a wonderful option to present an order of service or guest table plan.
