Victorian Burr Walnut Davenport. C.1860.

Description

A really handsome, well proportioned burr walnut Victorian Davenport with drawers to both sides, one side being dummy drawers. The top, sides and the drawers all have beautiful patterened boxwood stringing. It has a brass gallery to hidden desk storeage compartment and green leather writing surface. Unusually it comes complete with keys to all locking drawers, front and top. The legs are shaped and wonderfully carved carved with turned feet and standing on castors.

This is a fantatic piece of period furniture.
