A stunning, chic classical antique French boudoir clock set.
To the top is a flaming finial and quiver of arrows with a swag and flowers. The front is blind fretted with a motif of musical horns and flowers. The side urns have rams head handles and pineapple finials. This is a clock set of excellent quality, the white marble contrasts very nicely with the ormolu which is in excellent condition.
The beautifully understated dial is white convex enamel, elegantly lettered, and fitted with the original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex glass.
The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Click the video clip below to hear the bell and watch the clock running!
Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish to the marble. There are occasional light scratches some nibbles to the edges. There is hardly any wear to the original gilding, there are some light scratches to the back. The dial is also in good condition, some slight nibbles around the winding holes and some chipping to the bottom of the dial that can hardly be seen with the bezel closed. There is a some light scratching to the original glass.
Complete with original pendulum, bell and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required.
