Description

A fine quality bow-fronted stick baromter bu Hughes, 120 Fenchurch Street, London, with flame mahogany case, ebonised cistern cover, raised thermometer case, silvered, brass dials and adjustable vernier and original ivory knob. Both H.

Huges and J. Huges are listed as barometer makers but on this example no initial is engraved, however it is more likely to have been made by H. Huges as J.Huges of Ratcliff, London seems to have been active slightly later in the 19th century. 970 mm high. Circa 1820
