Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The bottom drawer actually comes out joined to the plinth, so there is no wasted storage space. There are also flat feet at the base. The drawer bottoms are solid too. This chest dates from around the 1860-80 period, so there are naturally various old marks, indentations, etc, so don't expect it to look new, but it is in good condition & structurally sound, with drawers that work.
