A very interesting provincial longcase clock. An oak and elm case with double arched trunk door and triple arched raised base panel. Good colour and patination to the case. Iron butterfly hinges to the hood door. A 12" square brass and silvered dial with corner spandrels. Rarer feature of date ring to the inside of the chapter ring with 3rd hand pointer. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
The dial signed 'Preston, Lancashire' held by a winged cherub.
