A very large and impressive original antique French gilt brass clock set, standing at 30" in height. It is Louis XVI style and features an elaborate fretted panel to the front. It is architectural in style, Corinthian columns to each side, scrolls and acanthus leaves and swags and bows. Candelabra are conforming in style with large classical handled urns surmounted by 6 light candelabrum.

The dial is enamel on copper with a pretty floral swag around the inside and is complete with original fretted blued steel hands.

The French movement is by Georges Verger et Fils of 51 rue Sainte Anne, Paris. The clockmakers mark is on the movement backplate. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Condition of the case is excellent, the original gilding is beautifully clean and bright with hardly any wear or discolouration and there are no losses. The dial is also in excellent condition with no chips or scratches, there is a rubbed retailers mark on the dial also. Candelabra are slightly distorted. The set makes a stunning display as you can see below.
