Antique Georgian Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase

Description

A fine example of an 18th century George 111 bookcase with a secretaire drawer. The upper section has 2 doors each with 10 pane astragal glazing ,the 2 shelves are fixed.Amazingly this bookcase still has its original swan neck pediment which is superbly inlaid, most often these pediments are missing. The chest base has 3 long drawers and a pair of drawers behind which is the secretaire drawer with 8 small drawers and small compartments for letters, all are delicately inlaid.This is a superb example of 18th century craftsmanship and is in excellent condition.
