Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
It's also in great condition with no warps or splits & the drawers have fine dovetails. There are turned wooden bun handles on the drawers & small bun feet under the plinth. It has been to our workshop where it was gently polished, keeping the original warm colour & all the drawers made to work well. These very large chests of this vintage are becoming very hard to find in this condition & this one dates from around the 1860-80 period.
