Antique Victorian Walnut Two Section Bookcase

19th century
Description

This antique Victorian walnut bookcase is full of character & is in good original condition. It's figured walnut, with carved corbels top & bottom. The glazing in the doors is original too & you can see the bubbles in the glass. It has three adjustable shelves inside the top which rest on sharks teeth supports, but I don't think the third one is in place in the photographs, because all the supports weren't there at the time. There is a shaped drawer in the middle & two panelled cupboards below. There are various small old minor marks & indentations under the polish, but all in keeping with the age of this piece & only adding to the character. There is a working key to the top doors, but the bottom lock seems to be different & I will get a key to work that too. It comes apart in two sections for easy transportation. This bookcase has a lovely warm colour & patina.

Depth --- 16" (41)

Height --- 78" (198)
