Lancaster Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

The gilding is a dark rich yellow colour, but the flash in the camera has given it a greenish tint that isn't there in reality.
The light has excellent details; namely the vine leaves in the cherubs hair, the bunch of grapes he is holding, and his face, feet and hands are all very clear.

The cherub by himself measures: 23cm across by 22cm high and approximately 10cm in width. The light as a whole measures 34cm across, 34cm in height up to the light bulb holder and approximately 26cm in width.

It has been rewired with fabric cable and fitted with an online switch, and the base has a felt cover.
It is extremely heavy and can be viewed in the Surrey area, or quotes for delivery can be given. For further information please email us on lancasterantiques@ymail.com.
