Large Antique English Burr Cedar Table or Desk Box C. 1910

Description

A good large example, these boxes are usually quite small, and this one measures a generous 11" x 6 1/2" x 4 1/4" tall to the top of the domed lid.

The box is covered in highly decorative Burl Cedar, with it's tight curly grain and rich Cognac colour. The edges are all cross-banded in Tulipwood and a Boxwood stringing.

The interior has been re-lined in a hand-marbled paper, creating a fresh finish ready for use.

Excellent condition (marks to lid are just reflections of overhead lighting).
